Score: 8 out of 10 Video and Presentation The season, which has given us a look deep into the Fire Nation, has been very impressive. It makes little sense to have the special separated on two different discs. The release ends on a more disappointing, incomplete note, since it feels like the whole special should have been included. Unfortunately, only part 1 one of the excellent two part The Day of Black Sun special is included. This episode contains some darker overtones as it deals with the Fire Nation's treachery in trying to ethnically cleanse the world of those they feared could defeat them, as well as a dark and terrible power which is possible for water benders such as Katarra to possess.
The woman is the last surviving member of a Water Tribe. In a more introspective episode for Katarra, the group meets an elderly woman who lives in the Fire Nation. The huge revelation is a shocking connection - not just between Sozen and Roku, but both men along with Zuko. The journey mirrors Zuko's reading of the history of the one who started the Fire Nation's military campaign, Fire Lord Sozen ( Ron Perlman). Aang travels on a spiritual journey, led by the ghost of his predecessor, Avatar Roku.
Episode six starts the release out and answers many questions with regard to the conflict of the Fire Nation and its campaign to take over the world. Zuko's Uncle Iroh, now a prisoner of the Fire Nation, has grown upset with Zuko's behavior as Zuko only grows angrier about not finding his true purpose. Unfortunately, the reinstatement of his royal birthright does not give Zuko the satisfaction he wanted. Zuko, the conflicted, brooding, scarred, and formerly exiled warrior of the Fire Nation, has finally been granted his heart's desire: acceptance back into the Fire Nation and the house of his father, Fire Lord Ozai ( Mark Hammill). Knowing of an impending eclipse that will leave the Fire Nation vulnerable and powerless to Fire Bending, the group decides to hide out and bide their time in the lions' den as the ragtag remnants of the Earth and Water kingdoms prepare for their invasion to take down the tyrannical regime. After Azula and her crew disguised themselves as the Kiyoshi Warriors, they took the Earth Nation apart from the inside, and Aang, Sokka, Katarra, and Toph had to flee.
At this point, Aang and his friends have managed to secretly infiltrate the Fire Nation.
